Template #197

Hi Everyone!
Holy cow has it been busy here!
Lets start with the rock concert that was a two day event here Friday and Saturday. Well Friday night I got to listen to every band that played that night all from my front deck. Although I must say I had no clue who any of the bands were. Saturday night I had been looking forward to hearing Skid Row play but never heard a sound from the concert until Brett Michales (sp) took the stage. They cranked the volume for him and I got to sing along with all the old Poison songs! Brought back a lot of memories good and bad. Here I am dating myself! Oh well, the kids had worse things to say about my singing and the music.
---
Saturday was also the kick off of the Air Show. It was actually louder on Thursday when they were practicing and looking for any and all obstacles around the city that they needed to avoid during the show. Every picture I tried to snap since they all showed up on Thursday till all the plains left again Sunday evening was either grainy from zooming to the max or just a blur of the plane if I got the plane at all. So there are none to share unfortunately. Hopefully when they do the next show here again in three years I will have a better camera. :)
---
On Sunday we had a small birthday Party for "The Boy". He was visiting his dad on his actuall birthday so we waited and celebrated when he got home.
Smallest Radio Controlled car I have ever seen. It's no bigger then a Matchbox car or a Hot Wheels Car. Pretty cool little thing actually, you can change out the motor and put different wheels on it and everything.
A Bug in the cake?
He asked for a bug cake so the cake was decorated with bugs.
Today was an absolute gorgeous day so guess what we did?
Off to the lake again!
I never knew it was possible to flip one of the big sit down jetskies. This one was a three seater with three "maybe" first year college guys riding it. Well they not only flipped it end over end but it barrel rolled two times. They are darn lucky that none of them got hurt. Jetskies and Wave runners can be very dangerous things when pushed to the limit and or unskilled riders are on them.
Took a lot of effort and about 5 minutes for them to get it righted again.
When we called it a day, they were "trying" to knee board behind it but were not having much luck.
--
Here we are just swimming and ridding. Just as we were heading out to the lake the neighbors flaked out on us and decided not to go after just an hour before saying "sure we'll go sounds like fun."
Grr.. Oh well, It was nice not having to share the Jetskies and take turns as much. I got to ride to my hearts content today. So much so that I know my muscles are going to hurt a bit for the next couple of days!
---
I'll be nimble
I'll be quick
I'll fall down the stairs today!
Yep the only injury suffered by anyone this year with the Jetskies and the lake is me. I decided to be nice and walk down to the water to get our jetski anchor and buoy. I steeped on some gravel on the stairs going down to the water and whamo, down I went my full weight on top of my arm when I hit and then slid down about two or three steps before I could get my feet under me to stop the slide.
What a rotten way to end the last trip to the lake for the season. The lake is getting to green from the algae and our next trip will be to the Missouri river to meet up with our Denver relatives and get one last Jetski trip in for everyone in early September. Which also gives me time to get our maintenance done on the skies and trailer. The first thing I need to get done is replace the bearings in the trailer axle. I do this about every 3 or 4 years whether it needs it or not. water is water and it can do lots of damage to things, even to things that are made to be in the water. The skies could also use a good wash, wax and buffing. They may be 15 years old but no one ever guesses there that old since we maintain them and take really good care of them. They are completely original no major work ever done on them except the mats where you stand. We had those replaced about 3 years ago because the glue that was used on the original ones started to fail.
---
Now that you have made it this far I must admit I still don't have a layout for inspiration for tonight's Freebie Template #197.
But I'm sure most of you know the drill by now so just click the preview to download and remember that hot linking is a no no.

All of the links for the "10 or more" Challenge went out on Sunday Afternoon. A little later then anticipated but time had a way of slipping away from this weekend.
Thank you to all of you who not only download my freebies but leave such wonderful comments! I always look forward to reading them. Thank you!
--
Now since I reactivated my Dark Age of Camelot account, I think I'm going to go play for a while.
Go ahead google it, it's an awesome game! I've been playing on and off for almost 7 years now. Why on and off? When a new game comes out I just have to try it. But when I grow tired of it I always go back to DAoC. Everquest has always been a close second thou.
Until next time...

Double Template #38

Evening all!
Wow, I thought it was going to be loud with the air show but tonight was also the kick off for a large 2 day rock concert! 16 bands and it's all outdoors! The good and the bad is that I'm sitting here at my computer with the air conditioning on and I can hear the concert clear as day! Yea, it's less then a mile away. Tomorrow night I might just have to sit out on the deck and listen to Skid Row when they play. It's the only band I know out of the 16 playing. The one I'm looking forward to is Big and Rich. They will be here in about 3 weeks for an outdoor concert! That's a bit more to my liking, although I do listen to a little bit of everything. And I do mean just about everything!
Alright. Here is your freebie for tonight, Double Template #38.

I'll be back tomorrow (Sat) with the "10 or more" lists for card uses, a few layout's and a new freebie!
Think I'm gonna go sit on the deck and listen to the end of the concert.

Blue Angels and Pajamas

Evening all!

Wow has it been loud around our town today. We are having an air show this weekend and the Blue Angels are here! You see, we live 2 miles straight out from the end of the runway. Not only do we get all the noise but we get a pretty good view too. Today was practice day for the Blue Angels. One even flew upside down over our house! The 5 of them flew in lots of different formations and even did the smoke trail thing. The boy and the youngest were the most impressed by them. By the end of the weekend I will have had my fill of them for the year. Show starts at 8:30 am so there will be no sleeping in for any of us this weekend!

Grandpa had come over shortly before the Blue Angels started flying and after they were done I told the little one to go check the water in the wadding pool. As she was bending over to test it Grandpa scooped her up and held her over the pool like he was going to drop her in. He decided against it since she was still running around in her pajamas. Yes it has been a lazy day here. :D After a few minutes she bent over to test the water again, I snuck over behind her and tossed her in! Pajamas, shoes and all! Her response was "Grandpa why did you do that!" We all laughed so hard at that! She really didn't mind it though, she climbed out took her shoes off and dived right back in. After a few more minutes the boy just could not resist the water and climbed in himself, fully clothed! The pool is definitely not big enough for the two of them but they made the best of it and had a blast splashing and horsing around.
I'm off to round out the day with a couple of hours of playing DAoC.
See you Friday with our next Double Template.
Until next time...

Proof!

Good Morning Everyone!
We went to the lake Tuesday and I stayed up late sorting the 300+ photos I took while we where there. I actually found some of me and thought I'd prove to you all that I don't always hide behind the camera. Actually, I'm the outdoorsy person in this family! The more rugged it is the more I enjoy it!

I find it difficult to journal about myself.
So I really don't know what I'm going to do with that yet.

Just a couple of quick little things tonight.

First I guess there was some compatibility issues with older versions of PSP. This should be straightened out now starting with tonight's freebie.

Secondly don't forget to submit your 10 or more uses for a card. Turn your list into my email by Friday night at Midnight. In return you will receive a "4pk of Card Templates".

Last tonight I'd like to say thank you for all the wonderful comments. I know I have been pretty lazy this month and last month but with August approaching and school starting back up, look for lots of new things to come!

Template #195

Grab a snack and your drink of choice,
This is gonna be a long one.

First off tonight I'd like to show you all what you missed out on. These are the previews for the challenge gift. The challenges ran for 24 hours on Saturday. I finally got all the links sent out this evening and thought I'd share the previews with you all. I was very surprised at the number of you who took the time to convert the miles to kilometers. and for how I expect people to act well to me it's common sense to treat others as you want to be treated. I know I can get pretty harsh here on the blog at times. 90% of it is just my way of blowing off steam. Once in a while I forget that some people actually read what I have to say. Sometimes it's kind of spooky at just how far this blog has reached and at other times it makes me feel good to know that once in a while I make a new friend or two.
--
sdwrdt, would you please send me an email so that I may get your gift to you? Thank you.

We also have some new Layouts to share tonight. Some of these are for the challenge and some are for our regular Monthly Participation Gift.

Card Template #1

Wow People!
You actually read the rants and all! You must really like the templates to go out and find the conversion of miles to klm!
I figured a few of my regular readers may complete the challenge but I was shocked by how many of you have participated thus far!

The layout challenge I was also surprised with, but for the opposite reason. I have only received one so far. What you submit today also completes the Monthly Participation Challenge so at the end of the month those people will also receive that gift.

There is still time! You have until Midnight tonight! (Central time)
---
Some of you have asked why I add extra stress when I'm already stressing out. Well giving things away makes me feel good. I just like to make you work for it every once in a while. :)

You asked for it,

and now,

You get it!

Card Templates!

Every other Saturday I will be offering a new card Template.
I'm calling them Card Templates to keep it easy but they can be used as party invitations Christmas cards, thank yous and all sorts of things.
---
How about this: Everyone who can come up with 10 or more uses for these will receive a 4 pk of card templates as a gift.

For this challenge I ask:

1.Send the list in an email

2. Subject line: "10 or more"

This challenge will run until Friday the 24 at midnight.

I will then compile the lists and post it with next Saturdays blog post.

Double Template #37

Evening all.
Yes, it has been a very long and some what rough day.

If the next bit sounds awful harsh at times, I'm apologizing now. Sorry! Please excuse me, but I need to "vent" and blow off some steam before I pop!

Shall we start with when I went to bed last night, or should I say, this morning at 2am. Not a good start when your up for the day at 4:30am.

I turned on to the interstate at exactly 5am with my two year old. Drove 800 miles to arrive back in my drive way at 6 pm this evening. Normally with fuel stops and bathroom breaks this can be done in 12 hours. Road construction! aack! Do they really need to shut down 20+ miles of road when they can only really work on a couple of miles at a time? Why can't they just close off the few miles they are actually working on?
Then about an hour from home the truck was on cruise control going up a hill, it down shifted and got really, really loud. Louder then Harley loud. So I pulled over to investigate and found that the factory seam on the muffler let loose! Oh what fun! Couldn't hear myself think the rest of the way home!

Now if you have actually read this your probably wondering why in the world would she go on a drive like that let alone with a two year old? Well, I had to pick the boy up from visiting his dad. Yep Yep, he is home at last! 8 weeks feels like forever! Why alone? Everyone else was busy, just that simple.

Now just a little bit more rant and I will be done.
When we finally got home and had eaten dinner I sat down to read the 30-40 blogs that I read on an almost daily basis. I "thought" that it would be enjoyable and relaxing. You know what I mean, reading about someone else's life can put a new perspective on your own, sometimes.
Well there were a few blogs that had some nasty comments left on them. Not the polite criticism that helps you learn and grow but mean nasty stuff.

So this is what I have to say about that:
1. Polite criticism and guidance is always welcome.
2. mean nasty stuff will just result in your comment being deleted.
3. Anonymous does not mean Anonymous on the web. You might think it does but it don't.
4. This is my blog and you are all guests when you stop by. Act responsibly. This goes for anyones blog in my opinion.
5. What I share here on my blog are my thoughts and feelings. I do not bad mouth anything on anyones blog. They are your thoughts and feelings and I respect that, Please respect mine.

Now that all the negative is out of the way.
I have two things that I am absolutely thrilled about!

My Boy is Home! My Boy is Home! Ok just something I would shout from the roof top if I had the guts to actually do it! roflol!

And the second:
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone who has left comments! I don't think I have ever had that many before! Wow! You all Totally Rock!

Tonight's Freebie is Double Template #37

Now for a challenge.
Leave a comment on this post or send me an email by Saturday Night at Midnight containing the following information:
1. How far did I drive in klm?
2. What is your favorite template (of mine of course)
3. How do I expect blog visitors to act?

Answer these three questions and I will send you a never released template!

Remember you have to leave an email or some way of me to contact you so that I can get your "gift" to you.

Also for everyone that sends in a layout (Made using any of my freebies) before Saturday night Midnight. I will send you a never released template! If you would like to take part but don't want your LO on the blog just say so in the email. I'm always fine with that. Privacy and fun is foremost.

Don't worry if you would like to take part in both challenges you can!

Both templates are different.

Ok everyone, Thanks for hanging in there with me tonight. My mind is a jumbled mess with all of today's events. Actually not much was actually physically done but driving that long is enough to drive a person nuts! I had no creative outlet time today and all the little stresses that alone would be nothing but together on top of a long day. Well I'll just say grrrr....

And since I'm still trying to bring myself out of the bad mood. I'll even tell you, there will be another new template up for grabs Saturday night. Another series to try and work into the week!

Thanks Everyone!
Until next time...

Project 365 Week 29 Template

Evening Everyone!
First off tonight I would like to thank everyone for all the wonderful comments on 4 shared and here on the blog. They mean a lot more then I think most of you realize. Can I make just one request? Can you please leave your comments here on the blog instead of 4 shared? When A link goes bad or I retire something I loose all those wonderful comments! It breaks my heart when I have to delete a file off 4 shared, but only because I loose the comments. If you could put them here on the blog I can actually save them and reread them when ever I would like to.
Thank You.
--
I would also so like to say thank you to everyone who has been sending layouts in this month. It puts a smile on my face each time a find a new one in my email!
Thank You.
---
I get my inspiration from you, the readers and you are what make this blog evolve and keep going. To think I started this as just a place to share the layouts that I did for challenges! Now we have freebies at least 3 times a week and bits of odds and ends thrown in between.
Thank You

Fun Times Layout

Evening Everyone
This morning before everyone else was up I scrapped another page! I used Template #194 to show you how I imagine it could be used. I have also read on some blogs that storyboards are starting to become more popular with Scrapping. So this is my take on Template #194 with a bit of a story board style to it or to some it may be more of a collage. Either way, you can tell we had a lot of fun in the sun with our jet skies!

Template #194

Hi all!
Another short one tonight. We went to the lake again today and I am wiped out! It was a good day but the wind created some pretty nasty waves. Not as gorgeous as last Monday but still a good day. I forgot to bring the camera today but the clouds and the waves would have made some awful dark photos. Oh well, I took 100+ last week that should be enough for awhile!

LS Template Conversions #30 and #100

Hi All!
Oh what a busy weekend it has been! We finally got a break in all the rain so the grass could dry for mowing. Rain every night and high humidity during the days sure did make it grow! It took most of Saturday to get all our properties back in order. I also managed to clean house and get most of the laundry done. The last load was dried and put away this morning.

Let's see there was something else I did....

Ohhh... That's right I scrapped! Can you believe it I even managed to do 3 layouts! I found an awesome Blog Train and the kit is called "Those Summer Nights". I just fell in love with this! It covers everything from the pastels to bright and funky. I used it for all three of the layouts I'm sharing with you this evening. In fact I signed up in the forum to participate in there next Blog Train.
---
My first layout tonight has changed drastically from what I started with. Template #30 and 3 photos. Well as it progressed I decided that just the one picture would work best. The other two were taken during the day and just did not have the same feel to them as this one does. By the time I was finished with it there is little if no evidence of the template that I started with.
