P365 Week 27 Template ~ Freebie

Evening everyone,

Let's see here...
Day 12 (yesterday) Primed all the window and door trim. Harvested all the remaining radishes. Came home and did a ton of house work in the afternoon. I wasn't about to sit around and watch it dry. Went back after supper and gave the trim a first coat of paint.

Day 13 (today) Put a second coat of paint on the trim. Pulled some weeds in the garden, took the girls to the park and then went back to Grandpa's for lunch. After lunch I installed the siding trim around the rest of the garage door features and put siding up on one side of the big garage door and finished off the other side of the garage up to the top of that door. Yes there is a ton of doors in his garage!

Tomorrow I will work on putting more siding up. Around 2-3pm we are supposed to head to the lake for some jetski fun! That will depend on the wind. It is supposed to blow pretty bad which would be a not so fun day on the water.

Howdy!
How's everyone doing tonight? Good I hope!
Wow did we have a mess at Grandpa's to clean up on Sunday after Saturday nights storm. He down played the damage on the phone Saturday night. Sunday morning was spent cleaning up the mess and figuring out where to launch back into the house project again. We got the ground level of the garage re wrapped. We also managed to get the starter strip installed before it got way to hot and humid. We called it a day about 3 pm.

Today ( Day 11) we got a good start. I managed to get the gable end completly house wraped and before calling it quits I had the siding on one side of the garage done up to the top of the door and the back side is done up to the bottom of the window. Learning to trim the siding around these objects will be Tuesday mornings learning curve. No problems yet, everything is true and level!

Tonight I have a layout to share with you sent in to us by my dear friend Michele.
Can't wait to see you Michele! Only a month away!

Template was a bonus gift that is no longer available.
Kit is "Serenade" by me! 3s_enough!

Storms!

They missed us yesterday evening but they got their revenge tonight!
50 mile an hour winds gusting to 75 with straight sideways rain! Nasty, 2 and a half inches of rain in less then an hour!

Damage wise, power lines are down all around town along with tons of trees and street flooding.
I got some roof damage from 3 separate tree branches coming down. Boy did those make noise when they hit! Not sure about damage up on the roof (ladders are all at Grandpa's) but I did get the branches down and I can see some crush like damage done to my sofit area.

The storm also undid about half the work I did at Grandpa's today. I had finished the flashing yesterday and today I managed to get the house wrap on all of the garage except up in the gable, well the storm removed half of it and a couple pieces of flashing from the front window of the house. 3 steps forward and 2 steps back! Oh well, it could of been a whole lot worse. Thanking our lucky stars that we did not get the hail or tornado's that were all around us.

Since our damage is nothing a little hard work can't fix I'm in a truly good mood! Even with the teenager pestering to go to a friends house. I have told her no about 6 times now! There is no travel advised in our town and since I don't have an emergency of any sort I'm staying put!

This evening I spent some time sorting through my email for the last month or so.

I think I may have missed giving out the May gift to a couple of people. If you are one of them please shoot me an email.

I also found a couple of layouts that have come in since the first but I have some how missed getting them posted so those will be coming up in the next post or so.

I'm so far behind in daily things that I don't really even know where to start to get things re organized.

In the mean time I do have a freebie for you!

Project 365 Week 26 Template ~ Freebie

Evening everyone,
I'm so tired I'm at a loss for words... so here goes.....
I put in an 12 hour day on the house today. although I did take an hour to go and check out another SUV. That was a waste of time. I do have that picture update for any of you that are actually interested. I re roofed this house 7 years ago by myself. The shingle trimming along the gable ends leaves a little to be desired, but absolutely no leaks thus far! I built the deck 3 years ago but we are having dirt and water issues under it, so that will be fixed during this process also.

Forgot my camera on Day 4 and totally forgot about the camera on the phone! Anyway I told you Monday that we SUV shopped and that I worked that evening. What I did not tell you is that we had a bit on a incident Monday night. While removing the siding 15 feet in the air I dropped a nail down into the AC unit. Yep... tink tink tink tink tink tsssssssssssssssssssssssss! Just like a nail in your car radiator! So Tuesday morning the repair man had to come out. I made sure all the siding on that side of the house was off before he got there at 10 am! I was not about to let another"accident" happen. $330.00 later, we had AC again.

Tonight I have a fabulous layout to share with you all sent in to us by my good Friend Kristal.
This one she did for her Dad for Fathers Day. Isn't it great!
She also submitted it for the Newsletter Challenge at Stuff to Scrap. I'm so far behind reading the Newsletters that I didn't even know they were running a challenge about 3 Generations!
Fantastic job Kristal I'm sure your Dad loved it!

Template #251 ~ Freebie

Evening all..

I have some layouts and pictures of the siding job to share but I am whooped! To tuckered out to even think, I think! lol)

Basically the dumpster showed up at noon Saturday. That afternoon I removed all the old siding on the west and south sides of the garage.

Sunday was the the north side of the garage, half the front and half the back of the house. I tried to work in the shade as much as possible.
Today dawned stormy. So we did some SUV shopping.
About 4 o'clock it had dried up enough that I took the 24 foot ladder to grandpa's and worked on the east end of the house. This is the side I have been dreading. Not only is it the tallest part but the ground slopes away from the house pretty drastically. Got half of that done before I had had enough with the whole ladder thing and moved to the front of the house. I was able to finish that just as the sun set. At this point I would say about 80% of the old siding is down.
That's if for now. I'm going to head in for a long soak in the tub and then head to bed.
See you all Wednesday night with pictures and those fabulous layouts!

Double Template #66 ~ Freebie

And so it begins...
Today I started the prep work for Grandpa's siding. Took all the old trim down from the sofits and gables. Took the light fixtures down then deconstructed and removed the back deck off the patio doors. The big roll off dumpster arrives in the morning and I will be starting on removal of the old siding.

Here is a picture from our lake trip. This is supposed to be the ski beach! The wall is 4 feet tall and normally there is 8 to 10 feet of nice sandy beach. Note the shrubs in the water.
I also have a couple of layouts to share with you tonight.

P365 Week 25 Template ~ Freebie

Evening All!
What a great day it was! We made our first trip to the lake and I must admit I got a bit sunburned! 20 min on the water was all it took. When on shore I stayed in the shade and watched the girls run around and put ice down each others swimsuits! The oldest brought one of her girlfriends along and the youngest also got in on it. They even got Dad once! I'll post a couple of pictures on Friday. Right now I'm feeling the sunburn and I know the muscles will feel it tomorrow.
Tonight I have a layout to share sent into us by my dear friend Michele.

Template #251 ~ Freebie

Short and sweet tonight folks, at least I hope!
*
Still raining, rained all but like 3 days so far this month.
*
The little one got her cast off today! Hip hip hurray! No contact sports for two weeks but other then that she is good to go!
*
Heading to the lake on Wednesday! Fun in the sun and water! Jetskies fired up on the first try this year. Problem child actually behaved for once! I'll explain Problem child in another post.
*
It's also official that I will be doing the siding on Grandpa's house. We went to the lumber yard and bought everything we needed today. Unfortunately I had to load it all myself. The total weight of the stuff is 1800 pounds! For as thin and flimsy each piece is, it sure is heavy as a unit! Also had to unload it and stack it all in his garage until the rain goes away. The siding pieces actually came boxed, but each box was 12 feet long and weighed 250 pounds. The truck was sure squatting on that drive!
*
I do have some layouts to share but as to how late it is I will save them for Wednesday.

Enjoy

Serenade Page Kit ~ Freebie

Yet another rainy, dreary day here. I think most of the town is about feed up with it. Even our local farmers are pretty upset right now. A lot of the fields are under water. The ground is so saturated there is just no place for the water to go. This next week is not supposed to be any better.
*
I have a list a mile long of things that need to be done this summer. All most all of it is outside things. With this rain I may end up running out of time. How can I possibly run out of time over the summer you ask? well, I only have two weeks left of June and we will be out of town the last half of July then school starts back up the third week of August. I have about 6 weeks to get it all done. Doing the siding alone will take me a month I'm sure. Yes alone. Nice challenge to tackle don't you think? I have not even started but I'm already second guessing myself about it.
*
Each day of rain we get the more pressure I feel. I roam around the house feeling like I need to be doing something and that I'm wasting precious time. But that's nothing new, I feel like that a lot! I physically have to be doing something at all times. Just the type of person I am I guess.

Double Template #65 ~ Freebie

Evening all!
Hope you all had a good week.
Been busy around here as always. We have received 3.5 inches of rain in the last two days. Very soggy and low areas are flooded. Straight line winds came through last night and took out some houses just a few blocks from Grandpa's place. His neighbour hood was scattered with tree branches.
We plan on heading to the lake the the first part of the week for our first jetskie run. I fully charged the batteries and put those in today. Just need to hope they start after sitting all winter.
Let's see what else have I been up to, hmm... Worked on some templates, weeded the entire garden. Harvested onions and radishes. Pulled a ton of weeds for a neighbor, oh, and I've been studying up on how to install vinyl siding. Yep! That's the plan starting late next week. Tearing all the old press board siding off Grandpa's house and installing new vinyl siding. I have no idea how long it's going to take. But in the evenings I will be building new closets, one in the boys room and one in the girls room. Already gutted the old out, just need to build in the new ones and paint.
Anyway....
Kristal has been playing catch up with her Project 365 layouts!

Template #250 ~ Freebie

Evening All!
First off Friday and Saturday I had my Rummage Sale. Sold over half the stuff we had. The Camper found a new home along with two of my fish tanks and stands! The 55 gal and the 10 gal ones both flew the coop. We had to close a bit early on Saturday due to rain but we had a good sale none the less. I had enough of it cleaned up Saturday night that grandpa was able to put his truck back in the garage.

Today we mowed three lawns and finished packing up the rest of the unsold things. Took a few box's to Goodwill and got the jet skies out of storage all before noon! This afternoon the rain moved in so we started in packing up the boys room. He wants it painted yellow and black for his birthday! Sorry no black is going on my walls! So we are going with a black chair rail (and trim) with yellow below and white on the upper walls.

I do have some June layouts to share with you, but those will have to wait for another night. We are having a nasty thunderstorm at the moment and I would like to turn this machine off before I fry another one!

Oh what a busy week! All the normal plus the set up for the sale, I'm beat! Finish pricing things and make the signs on Thursday. Hopefully it should be a short day. I need to get as much of the "normal" done tomorrow since Friday and Saturday are tied up with the sale. We also have the Pop-up Camper and the car up for sale and we have been fielding calls on those as well.
Oh well a couple more days and it will be over with and hopefully it will pay off!

Template #249 ~ Freebie

Good morning everyone!
I hope you all had an enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend.

Saturday we did a little yard work and on Sunday afternoon we went and planted flowers in the erns at the cemetery. Monday we grilled at Grandpa's and more or less just hung out with him. The girls spent the night at his house and that is also where I'm heading in just a few minutes. It's time to start setting up for the garage sale!

But before I head out for the day I wanted to make sure I got the last of the May LO's posted. The new June gift will go up this evening and the gifts will be sent out tonight also. Now lets get to those layouts!
