Horsepower and Carnage! Oh, and a Template!

What a day!
I can still feel the vibrations of the horsepower!!

Although it didn't start off on a very good note. I awoke with a nasty headache that aspirin and caffeine couldn't fix. I was getting concerned about the afternoons events if the headache wouldn't go away. By show time it was pounding away, but I just had to go the boy was counting on me and I really didn't want to miss it either!

What a show it turned out to be! Our little bitty arena is just barely big enough to play arena foot ball, basketball or hockey in yet alone let the big guys go all out. We had six monster trucks all crammed into this little area but by gosh and by golly they put on a show! We had two female drivers this year!

This first picture is of one of the girls doing a backward somersault. She actually stood the truck on end for a good minute and was rocking it trying to get it to come down. Well it came down! She had buried the wheelie bar in the dirt and was just barely touching the car with the rear wheels. After they got the truck righted she climbed back in and drove it out. Her husband who was also driving his own truck and competing against her said that it is only the third time she has driven and the third time she has rolled it!

Dream Catcher broke his rear tie rod on his last run.

Close encounters with Bigfoot!
During the side by side racing, Bigfoots zest for victory almost cost two trucks there opportunities. The officials had to use the kill switches to kill the trucks to stop this one from happening. When all was said and done there was a mere inch max two between the trucks. The dude in the picture was under the pink truck working on it when Bigfoot came a calling!

The arena is so small the trucks only have about 4 truck lengths to get up speed and to be able to stop again on the other side of the jump. Bigfoot did a great job of getting some air! None of the others did, well one other got some goofy air but we'll chat about that another time.

And now since you all really come for the freebies and I have tormented you long enough with carnage, I give you tonight's Freebie

Yippee! Wooo hooo We have layouts tonight!!!
Can you tell I'm excited! You bet I am! I love it when people share there layouts!

Don't you just love how simple yet elegant this layout is that Alice sent in? She made a few small adjustments to Template #128 to accommodate the number of photos and size.
The papers are from a Halloween kit by Just So Scrappy

Alice also sent in this wonderful Snow Flurries layout showing the family enjoying the flurries with the little one for the first time.
Template #124 and "Snow Days" kit can both be found here on the blog.

These next two Layouts come from Elanor via New Zealand!
So glad to have you join us here! Thank you for sharing with us!

The sample fliers have been sent to the client and now we wait and see.
The Bears Fan Kit is almost ready and Sunday is a sure bet that it will be up for download.
The Cinnamon rolls turned out as hard as hockey pucks! lol One of these days I'll stumble on Grandma's famous roll recipe, but until then I'll keep trying.
Wednesday we made homemade Danishes. Not to bad, recipe needs a little fine tuning (a bit to crumbly for me).
The little one managed to get her socks on all by herself for the first time today!
Friday who knows what will happen!?!
Saturday is the last basketball game of the season.
I have drank 3 pots of coffee today!

Template #158

Good evening all!
Hope you all had an easy Monday to get the week started off with.

This morning the youngster and I made home made Cinnamon rolls. She had a blast kneading the dough. I didn't get any pictures of it because my hands were covered to!

This afternoon while the little one napped I got another layout done! This one is of my son on our first ski trip. By the end of the day he was getting it down. I used my Template #157 and my recently released "Snow Days Kit"for this layout.

I also managed to get tonight's freebie made up for you all.

Template # 156

We had a very full Saturday of basketball. The first game was at 8 am and the last was at 7pm!
The Big Game was a brutal one! We played the best team in our age division and won! The boys found out that the professional court they played on was a whole lot more slippery then the gyms there used to playing in. No one was hurt but the boys did a lot of slipping and sliding around! The Professional Referee was even easier on them then the normal one! A couple of times when a foul or traveling error was committed the boys would stop and look at the ref like why are you not calling that? He actually had to tell them to keep going and not stop more then once.
Tonight I have two layouts to share with you all. Both of these are from yesterdays (Saturdays)Big Game. Both layouts use the wonderful Slam Dunk Kit by Lori over at Scraps N Pieces. You can also find a link to her blog in my side bar.

Template # 155 was used on the above layout
Template #156 was used on the below layout

Tonight's freebie
I can't believe that no one called me on the error of going out of order. But then I didn't put Template # 157 in the title line so some might have missed that one two. You can find Template # 157 here.

Double Template #12

Our tropical heat wave has ended here. All week it has been in the upper thirty's and yesterday we topped out at 42! That's 15 degrees warmer then average. The only thing I dislike about the melting is that everything turns a dirty nasty muddy color. Old Man Winter decided to blow back in today. Today we topped out at 18 and that was a 5am. It has been falling steadily all day. The wind also kicked back in around noon. I knew it couldn't last, but a person can hope can't they?

A big day of basketball for us on Saturday. First game is at 8 am and the last one is at 7pm.
Wish us luck and keep you fingers crossed the boys team is gonna need it!
One other thing to mention. In the side bar to the right you will notice that I have decided to retire the Team Kits. The Team Kits will be available until March 15 2009.

As I promised last night I have the preview for the "sharing" bonus ready for you.
I hope you like it! I'm pretty hyped about it!
Double Template Friday!
This template could easily double as a Project 365 template. Just place a photo in the title spot to have 7 photos with lots of space for your journaling!
Enjoy!

Project 365 Week 4 Template

Sorry I'm not chatty tonight. It's been another long rough day.
On an up note the dog is doing much better.

Now for your freebie.
Project 365 Week 4 Template.

This one is also a bit different, in that when I read Ikea Goddess blog yesterday she talked about how to put two 12 x 12's into a 12 x 24 format. So in this download you will find not only the side A and B files for both sizes but also the full double template as they are shown in the preview so you don't have to put them together. Let me know what you think of this idea. I actually create the doubles in 12 x 24 and 8.5 x 22 and then split them into the different sides.

There are so many possibilities with this template! I can't wait to get started with it!

Template # 155

What a day!

A historic day for America! and the world as a whole depending on how you look at it all. No I'm not going to talk politics here. But while I watched it all on TV I did give the blog a make over. What do you all think of the new look? The paper I used is from a kit that I started a few months ago but never finished.

The day started off really early around here. The little one decided that we all needed to be up at 4am! Ack! Then the oldest had to be to school early for orchestra rehearsal. After getting back home the little one and I sat down and watched the 147 million dollar show. In between the events I figured out how to do the blog over and then this afternoon I worked on the new kit that my dear friend Michele and I have in the works for you all. The oldest had rehearsal again after school and since it was also concert night the instructor treated all the orchestra and band students to a big pizza party. The boy had his tutoring from 4 till 6 and then the concert started at 7pm. We finally got home at 9 pm. Can you image being at school from 7 am till almost 9 pm?

At the end of February they are also putting on a musical, The Wizard of Oz. All most all of February will have 3 hour rehearsals after school and on one of the Saturdays they will have practice from 9am until 5pm. They have 9 performances of the musical scheduled all in one week!

After we got home I let the dog out who promptly decided to fall down the deck steps. Hurt his left rear leg pretty bad. He did make it back up the steps to come in but he is limping pretty bad and hardly puts any weight on the leg. He can use it but we will have to watch him closely. He is a 13 year old Shitzu. Not my dog so I don't get to make the decisions regarding him. When he was a pup he fell down the stairs and pinched a nerve in his back. He could not walk for almost two weeks and he had to take all sorts of meds. He has had back and rear leg trouble ever since then.

Ok, enough of the blabbing and ranting, and since you have so patiently put up with it here is a new template for you all.

Template #153

We survived the cold!
It bottomed out at -26 F last night. It got to -47 F not to far from here though. Last night my boyfriend got out of class at 10pm and on his way home the throttle on the truck stuck open! Not a good thing. This morning the school district held school as usual no delay or nothing. The reason given for not calling school off was that the district thought to many kids would be left home alone. I would rather have mine home safe then getting frost bite waiting for the bus. I did end up keeping them both home today. The throttle on the truck is screwed after last night and the van refused to start for me this morning. It did finally start this afternoon after the temp had risen to a whopping -6 F for the high for the day.
The kids cheered at first when I told them they were staying home but they soon found out that just because you miss school doesn't mean a free day to do whatever. There was chores to do and lessons to be reviewed. After they were done they did get to watch a couple of movies.

Journal reads: Jump, Jump, Jump! That's what you love to do! At home you and your brother will hold hands and jump up and down in place, over and over and over again! So when we took you to Jump Street you had a blast! The big trampolines were a bit much, but the kiddie area was built just for you!
There are two things I forgot to do with this LO. I forgot to include the date and I should have run spell checker! I just discovered both when I uploaded the layout! Spell checker is my best friend! If it wasn't for this feature you would be trying to sort out the jibberish. Oh I can spell but my typing sucks! My mind moves a lot faster then I can type and I constantly have to stop and reread what I have typed. I do have to admit that this blog has helped my typing speed a bit!

You can follow the blog and share the blog with whoever you like but please do NOT hot link any of the files. Cause if you hot link I will hunt you down! Remember, common sense and basic manners and we won't have any problems.

I'm off to go read some more. I'm 3/4 of the way through book 7 now and I swear I will finish it before I go to bed tonight!

Take care everyone!

Project 365 Week 3 Template

Hi there everyone!

First off if you haven't checked out Scrubbie's blog you should! He is an absolute hoot! But here's the kicker, I thought it was Cold here. Right now it's -17 and falling fast. In Scrubbie's world it is -32! That is our all time record low and that was back in 1894! In the last 15 years or so the coldest it's gotten down to is -22. This season -13 had been the worst. None of this includes wind chills mind you, but if you did it would put us -27 right now. Were staying warm the best we can. The good news is that by this Sunday there predicting us to be in the 30's! Yippee! I have had enough of the Canadian cold fronts hitting us for this season. This is round three in the cold department. For snow we are at 20 inches for this season after our 2.6 inches on Tuesday.

If you haven't checked out Scrubbie's blog you can find the link in the side bar or click here.

So are you guys all keeping up with your pictures for Project 365? My pictures for week two are still on the camera, but I got them! Instead of scrapping I have been burying my nose in books. In 4 days I have read 5 books! I'm half way through #6.

But so we don't get to far behind I do have Weeks 3's Template of Project 365 for you all.

Tonight's freebie.

Template #152

Welcome!
How are you all doing today? Hope you are all some place warm!
Where oh where do I begin on all that has happened here in the last couple of days?
Saturday the boy had a basket ball game but 2 hours before the game they changed the time and location. That night since I couldn't sleep I ended up staying up all night and reading a book from cover to cover.
Yesterday afternoon they put us under a blizzard warning that was in effect until 6pm tonight. So since I figured I'd be staying home I "attempted" to install and format my new hard drive. Everything was fine except the sound driver would not work, even after I rolled back to service pack 2 and tried again. But then not only was the sound not working I kept getting Internet explorer errors saying explorer needed to close. But explorer wasn't even running! After fighting it for a couple of hours I had had enough and unplugged the new hard drive and went back to the old for the evening.
This morning I decided to try again and it formatted and installed windows with out a single hitch in it's gitty up! Now the only updating left to do for the computer is a new video card (the fan on it is failing). If I can get my hands on a new one in the next month or so I will have completely rebuilt my computer in the past 6 months.
Next step is to get all the Mac stuff up and going. I've never run a Mac before but from what I understand it is supposed to be pretty good with graphics and such. So that will be my new project in the next couple of months, along with learning Linux.
The weather here is COLD Brrrr! The neighbors water pipes froze up and finally burst today so I was called upon to help turn the water off to the house. It amazes me at how many home owners don't know how to turn there water or gas supplies off to there homes!
The wind has finally died down here but round two is supposed to hit tomorrow!

Ok, ok enough yip yap you say? I agree, how about a freebie for you all? This is the layout I created using tonight's template #152 and my soon to be released Snow Days Kit.
This photo was semi staged. My boyfriend told me he was going to slide in and stop, so I was ready at the bottom of the run with the camera. As it turns out it is the only decent picture I got of him that day. He hates pictures! I have maybe a dozen pictures of him over the last 6 years!

My Snow Days Kit is set to be released this Sunday the 18th!

Double Template # 10

Welcome to Double Template Friday!
This year I will try and have a new Double Template up every Friday. That's the plan, but it's not a guarantee!

But first I wanted to share some awesome Freebie Kits that I found today!
Beacon Scraps has 18 Freebie Kits that are available until Jan 31st!
Sweet Blossom Designs also has a gorgeous kit out called "Boys World".

Also while snooping through Scrap land today I stumbled upon my Template #2 in use at Scrapbook Flairs Gallery.

We had freezing rain during the night with on and off snow showers all day today. Almost 2 inches so far, not much, but with the ice under it cars have been going into the ditch along the interstate quite often tonight.

If it wasn't for the cost of living I think I'd pack up and move to Denver! The weather may get nasty there too but at least it don't last like it does around here! Icky Flat Lands! Great for farming but I hate the winters more and more each year! The summers are almost the same but a whole lot less humidity in Denver. The only bad things I have found about Denver, Crime and Smog. I like my little town. You could put the population of my "state" inside the Denver Metro area 4 times!

I also said I would show you week one of Project 365 when I finished it.
Well it's finished!

I used a wonderful freebie kit by Delicious Scraps called "Lilac A Licious"

Project 365 Week 2 Template

What's happening everyone!

I hope you have had a good day cause I know I have! It has been a busy but productive day! There is no sign of Christmas anywhere anymore except new toys! Everything from our trip has been dealt with and or put away. But the highlight of the day was picking out a new TV for the computer room!! The picture went out in the living room TV last Christmas so I bought a big new flat screen then and over the summer the picture on the one in the computer room proofed! I snagged the TV from the bedroom then but just before Christmas the sound failed in that. So today after a few days of research and deal shopping I got a new flat screen for the computer room! It fits perfect on the shelf I built for the old TV above my desk, I just love it! I also found time to make week two's Project 365 Template and a few more freebies that will be released soon!

Any who, on to the scrapping world!

Juli sent in these layouts shortly before Christmas. I apologize Juli for not sharing them earlier, these are wonderful!

Juli says:
"For the single page, I used A Work in Progress Kit by Vicki called Funky Retro, an add-on from Sweet Blossom’s Sara called Retro Funky Add-On, your template, and a font called Pea Missy with a Marker from a website called Amanda’s Scrapbooking Fonts."

Juli says:
"For the double page, I used A Work in Progress Collab kit by Vicki called Putting on the Glitz, your template, and the same font as before."

Thank you so much for sharing them with us Juli!

I would love to see the layouts you make using my templates and or kits. For those of you who would like to share, you can find my email in the about me section on the side of the blog.

Tonight's freebie is Project 365 week 2 Template

From here on out I will release a new Project 365 template every Wednesday night.

Please remember that hot lining is not allowed. However you are more then welcome to share the Blog with your family and friends.
