Our wonderful layouts tonight come from two very new Digi Scrappers! Let's welcome Laura and Sherry to the very friendly and helpful Digi World! Welcome Lady's!

This first wonderful layout comes to us from Laura. Laura says that she has been a traditional paper scrapper since 1995. She says that this is her first ever digital layout! "This is only my 2nd layout EVER! Could never get in to paper scrapping. Discovered Shutterfly photobooks and thought digi-scrapping might be the way I can go.
I always do a major retelling of any vacations my family and I take, so the empty space is a continuation of our day 1 travels. Not very interesting, so didn't include that. My daughter's nickname is "bug", hence all the ladybugs on the page. It was a trip she and I took as her "welcome to the teen years" trip!"

A "Bang" in the night! plus Template #170

Evening all!
The last 24 hours have been very frantic around here for me.

About 2 am I was just getting ready to shut things down for the night and head to bed. All of a sudden there was a "BANG" and the computer went dead! This bang was loud! it scared the living crap out of me! After quickly determining nothing was on fire I took the side of the computer case off to look around. Nothing visibly wrong but there was no power. I know it wasn't the surge protector because the TV and lamp are both plugged in to it and they didn't flicker or anything when it happened. After a bit I was getting to sleepy to investigate further and unplugged the whole computer to be on the safe side.
This morning I replaced the power supply, nothing! I then tried another different power supply to no avail. At this point I'm thinking electrical short. Power supply and now maybe even the motherboard since a brand new power supply didn't work. So I grabbed the kids computer(dinosaur old and slow). Pulled my hard drives out of mine and put them into the kids. Still nothing. Can't even salvage the hard drives. After a day of testing all the different parts it has been determined that I fried the entire computer. EVERYTHING IS FRIED! The only thing still good is the case.. Thankfully it did NOT fry my external hard drives that were on at the time or the monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I thought bad things came in 3's and we have had 4 this year alone! Our stove quit on Valentines weekend. The microwave gave out in Jan. the computer on Wednesday night and Thursday we got a call that one of our tenants is moving out. I think that's 4. Are we done yet or do we still have two more things to go?

On an up note to losing all of this stuff with the computer. Wednesday afternoon while Michele and I were chatting I did some computer house cleaning and filing. So most of the stuff I had ready for the next two weeks was put away on the external and was saved! Yippee! Template wise that is. I did lose the Adore gift, and a new kit I was going to release this Sunday. some QP's and a few things that Michele and I had been working on together. Hopefully she still has these things and I can get them from her. One way or another the Adore Gift will be given out on Sunday. Michele does have a copy of that!

I will try and make up another grab bag for you all to celebrate the 100,000 hits but it may be a few days now. Sorry, I wanted to have it ready as a surprise but, well it's fried! I hope you understand. We will still celebrate but just a bit late.

I also wanted to thank the lady's who sent layouts in today. Because of the computer issues I have not been able to get them ready for the blog. I will share them Friday night instead.

There has also been some comments and suggestions that I would like to talk more about, but I will wait till Friday for those since this is getting pretty long as it is.

Lastly tonight before we get to the freebie I would like to thank everyone who has stopped by to download last nights project 365 template. When I created it I didn't think it was worthy of being posted but I said to my self you never know till you try so I released it. And I am over whelmed by the number of downloads and comments! Project 365 Week 9

Hi all!
First off I'd like to apologize for going off last night. Some times you just have to let it out. It has been a much better day around here. I went over to my grandfathers and played with the saws and sanders this afternoon. Couple of weeks ago I got a freebie glider rocker and foot stool. Nice chair, clean, rocks great, but it was missing one arm! So today I made patterns from the other arm and went and cut and sanded all the pieces today. Power tools I love em!

Tonight when I got home I was surprised when I opened my email to find two Layouts! That's right TWO! Thanks Girls! I so needed to see something!

This first one comes to us from Katie.

Katie writes that her family roots for many different teams and this past Christmas her mom gave team sweatshirts to everyone, which made for a very colorful Christmas morning!

Hi All!
How's it going? Been a good week so far? I hope so! Been OK around here but I have to say I am a bit disappointed.

Disappointed you ask? Well Yeah! This is the last week for both the Fan Kit Challenge and the Adore Challenge. I have only received 1 layout for each challenge! Come on people! If your not willing to share, why should I share! It does go both ways! Some of you even leave comments saying you will send one in and then I sit and wait and rarely if ever receive them! Some days I just want to throw in the towel and give up! I even make extra freebies for those who are willing to share.

Although I must admit that this blog has given me one very awesome gift! That gift is my dear friend Michele. With out this blog and her willingness to share I never would have meet her! Some of you may have noticed the little CT tag on the right of the blog. Michele has graciously excepted the first CT position. Depending on how this last week of February goes with you guys submitting layouts will determine if there is a true CT announcement this weekend. Whether you guys share or not there is big changes happening here on the blog. Which way it goes all depends on you.

When you guys submit your layouts it's like receiving a long awaited gift to me. It is the final step in all the work that I put in on all these freebies. I could go sell them in a shop some where and maybe someday I'll be invited to, but I like to give things out for free. We all don't live high on the hog and some of us have very tight budgets these days. I know I can't afford to go digi shopping. I would love to be able to! There is so many wonderful things out there!

I'm sorry about being a nag and a downer but sometimes you just have to get it out or it will just fester away at you.

I do have one question for the LANDSCAPE scrappers...

the 8.5 x 11's, How many of you re size these to 8x10 for printing? I have read a few comments saying you do this and was wondering just how many do this? I have not printed any yet so I am clueless. Is this the "norm"? If so should I just make them 8x10? or leave them as is? I don't know so you tell me!

Hi ya folks!

How did the weekend treat you?

Not so bad around here. Re-arranged the living room once again. This time more so for my plants then any thing else. The kitchen window gets way to hot in the summer so I move them back into the east living room window. But they have grown so much, that the way they were last year didn't work this year! Yes I'm thinking spring already and we still have at least 4-5 more weeks of this icky winter left!

Evening All!

We had an unfortunate situation in our neighborhood this morning. The house four doors down and on the other side of the street went up in smoke about 9 am. As far as I know no one was home at the time. The kids had all left on the bus at 7:30. This evening the boy and I sat down and talked about what would happen to the family now. He knows the kids that lived there and just walking by the place coming home from the bus stop upset him a bit.

The oldest had another orchestra concert this evening. All the Public High Schools got together for this one. It was one HUGE orchestra! She went home with grandpa after the concert and he will take her to school in the morning. There is also only one more week of practice left for there musical "The Wizzard of Oz". They have 8 performances of it scheduled. I just wish she would put half the effort she does to orchestra towards her grades and we'd be good. (two F's at midterm, is not cool)


The youngest was at it again today. This time she was asking how to spell all the different body parts, eye, leg, fingers, ect. She really gets into it and does this little sing song thing. Now if only we could get the naps in at regular basis. It has been 5 days since she had one and she could defiantly use one! By 6 o'clock she is such a grumpy thing that bed time can't come soon enough.


Oh heck, there's the phone again! I spent over 5 hours on the phone already today. But that's tax season for ya!

Double Template #15

Did everyone have a good Friday the 13th ? I have always liked Friday the 13th. My paternal grandmother was born on Friday the 13th and I got my first drivers license on Friday the 13th. No bad luck there!

I found out what my Valentines gift is today. Well I actually had to pick it out. I'm getting a new phone! A camera phone! I know I'm a bit behind the times, camera phones are old news now! But the boyfriend will be getting one of those big fancy blackberry style things. This phone has wi fii and everything! Everything but an FM transmitter that is. He was actually bummed out that it didn't have it. Heck man, it's a mini computer with a phone for crying out loud! I don't see the point in those fancy things. We are all tied to those damn cell phones! Even my Dad drives me crazy, when he calls he expects me to answer no matter the time or place. Sorry my phone is not glued to me. I do not live for my phone and most of the time I'm not even in the same room as my phone! My new phone is a very basic one with a 2 pixel camera for those rare occasional pictures. It's a phone not a PDA or Camera.

One other thing to mention tonight is kind of cute. Our two year old today started asking how to spell words! From the back seat I hear " Mommy how do you spell age?" So I spelled it for her and then she wanted to know how to spell city, place, changes and half a dozen others! Tonight when I was practicing the boys spelling words with him she was spelling them out loud with us!

Just one more thing tonight, I still need some advice on how to make a blinkie work. For more on my problem please scroll to yesterdays post.

Evening Folks,
Well so it seems tax season has officially started. Well last week the phone side of things started and today the first clients dropped off there stuff. I usually have all the clients wrapped up and finished by April 1. I hate waiting till the last minute and love it when it's over!

Am I using the wrong link, gadget or photo host? Help please!?!?

It seems the only blinkies I can get to work are the ones where people give you the complete html code.

Sorry it's been a couple of days but with 4 kits in a week and two double templates I just had to take a breather! But looking back over the last week I see I have been neglecting my faithful single template followers. So tonight is for you guys! But first we do have some things to take care of.

First off tonight the voting has closed on this months Participation gift for the Fan Kit Layout Challenge. I'd like to thank everyone who voted! The Single Template wins this month! I will have the preview ready tomorrow night for you.

Secondly to earn the Participation Gift you need to submit a layout using any of my Fan Kits before the end of the month. You can find my email in the about me section on the right of the blog. Layouts will be shared here on the blog and placed in the slide show at the bottom of the page. The Link to the Participation Gift will be sent out to the participants via return email on March 1st.

Adore Mega Kit

Hi Ya Everyone!
Do we have a wonderful gift for you all tonight!

My my dear friend Michele over at A Small Scrap of Our Lives and I have gotten together again to bring you this wonderful Mega Kit "Adore"!

This kit is huge! It contains: 32 papers 71 elements and 9 word arts!

Last Sunday when I gave out this Double Template #13 I challenged Michele to also use it using our new kit "Adore". Check out Michele's blog to see what she did with it!

For this layout I used some of my favorite pictures of the kids from the last few months.

Valentine Cards for the kids. This is the second year that we have made our own cards to exchange. The kids think it's a blast to make them, and to print them runs about the same as the store bought cards. These cards are 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide. I just print two on a 4x 6 and cut them apart with my paper cutter.

and last but certainly not least my man.

I hope you have as much fun scrapping with "Adore" as Michele and I did making it!

How many of you watched the Super Bowl?
I only watched parts of the second and forth quarters. I started working on a new kit and it is about half done. Speaking of the game though. You Steelers fans be on the lookout some time this week I will be posting an Add On for the Steelers Fan Kit. I have not started it yet because I was waiting to see who won the game first so I'm not going to promise a certain day, just some time this week!

And now that we are speaking of football and Fan Kits, I want to remind everyone that ALL the Fan Kits will be retiring on March 15th. Get them while you can!
