Big Blue Template ~ Freebie

Evening All!

Another hot one today!

I got about 3/4 of the west gable done today then had to run off and mow the yards that I put off while we were out of town. We also sold our car this morning! We sold our Van about a week and a half a go. Weeding out the old and bringing in the new!

Here is a few pictures from our weekend.

How many unseasoned boiled chicken wings can you eat in 10 minutes?
The winner Jim (in the red) managed to eat 39!
He was also one of the skiers in the ski show.
Jim was such a sweet heart and gave Grandma the T-shirt he won!
Grandpa Tim is the other one sitting next to Grandma. He tried his best but only got 32 down.
Grandma I think ate 15 maybe?

If you ever get the chance to visit the Terry Redlin Art Center, DO IT!
It's just plain gorgeous!

Last Thursday morning before we left town I got my SUV!

"Big Blue" is what we call her!
We test drove her Wednesday night, slept on it then went and bought her Thursday morning and took her for our trip. She pulls the jet skies wonderfully and I can back down the boat ramp a lot easier with her then I can our truck!

Howdy!

Another productive day!

We start painting the sofits on Tuesday morning! Yippee!

Depending on the wind we may head to the lake while the paint dries!

Yes that's me hard at it today.

The oldest snuck a picture of me when I wasn't paying attention!

Tonight is a spur of the moment Template that I made using my above layout. I really had no idea what to call it but since it was inspired by my layout and the whole house project I named it House Template. There is no PSP images at this time, as I said it was spur of the moment. I will have Michele work on it and see if she will host the PSP files on her blog.

Update and freebie...

Today is Day 24. Not a very productive day, so unlike yesterday. I think part of it was that I over did it yesterday. The heat and high @$$ humidity about do me in. We had a small but nasty thunderstorm move through over night last night. Not as hot today but 98% humidity! I just could not stand it. I finished up the front that we did not get done yesterday.

After doing dishes and tons of laundry this afternoon I sat down and created the following layout that uses today's/Mondays freebie. Feels like forever since I scrapped a page myself!
Only 4 days till we leave on our first trip. Tomorrow will be a long day. I still have all of the east side to side. Paint all the sofits and roof trim and side the west gable. Lot's to do yet !

P365 Week 28 Template ~ Freebie

Warning*** Grab your beverage of choice, it's a long one tonight!

Let's see here, We left off finishing Day 6. Day 7 and 8 were boring days of final siding removal and nail removal. Lot's and lots of nail removal! Also worked in the garden some. Weeds grow faster then any other plant I know of! Then again a weed is only a plant growing in a place you don't want it to. We have a lot of volunteer tomato and onion plants coming up all over the garden!

Here goes....

She begged and begged to help! She helped scrap the old paint and then that evening with work clothes on I caved in and handed her a paint brush! House painting at 3! Look out Grandpa Tim! You have an apprentice painter in the making!

Called it quits early on Day 14 and headed to the lake!

Came home to find this.

That brings us current on the house project. I have worked 18 out of the last 20 days. icky!

But in scraping news I have some big news to share with you all. Or rather I should say my friend Krystal has some fantastic news to share with all of us!

Congratulations Kristal and Seth!

Project 365 Week 26 Template ~ Freebie

Evening everyone,
I'm so tired I'm at a loss for words... so here goes.....
I put in an 12 hour day on the house today. although I did take an hour to go and check out another SUV. That was a waste of time. I do have that picture update for any of you that are actually interested. I re roofed this house 7 years ago by myself. The shingle trimming along the gable ends leaves a little to be desired, but absolutely no leaks thus far! I built the deck 3 years ago but we are having dirt and water issues under it, so that will be fixed during this process also.

Forgot my camera on Day 4 and totally forgot about the camera on the phone! Anyway I told you Monday that we SUV shopped and that I worked that evening. What I did not tell you is that we had a bit on a incident Monday night. While removing the siding 15 feet in the air I dropped a nail down into the AC unit. Yep... tink tink tink tink tink tsssssssssssssssssssssssss! Just like a nail in your car radiator! So Tuesday morning the repair man had to come out. I made sure all the siding on that side of the house was off before he got there at 10 am! I was not about to let another"accident" happen. $330.00 later, we had AC again.

Tonight I have a fabulous layout to share with you all sent in to us by my good Friend Kristal.

This one she did for her Dad for Fathers Day. Isn't it great!

She also submitted it for the Newsletter Challenge at Stuff to Scrap. I'm so far behind reading the Newsletters that I didn't even know they were running a challenge about 3 Generations!

Fantastic job Kristal I'm sure your Dad loved it!

And so it begins...

Today I started the prep work for Grandpa's siding. Took all the old trim down from the sofits and gables. Took the light fixtures down then deconstructed and removed the back deck off the patio doors. The big roll off dumpster arrives in the morning and I will be starting on removal of the old siding.

Here is a picture from our lake trip. This is supposed to be the ski beach! The wall is 4 feet tall and normally there is 8 to 10 feet of nice sandy beach. Note the shrubs in the water.

Wow have we got a lot to catch up on today! As you know from my last post we had a nasty winter storm come blowing through for Christmas. The worst of it was on Christmas eve and Christmas morning. over the coarse of 4 days we got a total of 19" of the fluffy stuff. Some of it was not all that fluffy and light. I went out and shoveled after every couple of inches knowing it would take forever and be a real back killer to do it all at the end.

The Dig Out begins~

4 pm Christmas Day.

They came out with the loader and cleared a single path down our street for emergency vehicles only since the city was under a no travel ban.

Saturday we were able to get the truck dug out. The kids and I headed over to grandpa's to dig him out. His old snow blower was not able to throw the snow up high enough. I had to hand scoop the 4' tall by 4' wide ridge the plows had pushed up at the end of his drive way. That did my back in! I spent the rest of the day with a heating pad on my back.
*
Sunday we were finally able to get together and celebrate our Christmas.
*
I love this photo of my Grandpa (kids great grandpa).
I think it is the only one of him laughing and he does that very rarely these days.
He and I have been on a mission to find a 6.5" square frying pan for years to replace one that had finally worn out for him. After years of not being able to find one this year I did! I bought it wrapped it and then received a call from him saying that he had found one while out Christmas shopping! I decided to still give it to him. When he opened it that day he laughed till his sides hurt! Now he has two and hopefully they won't wear out so fast for him!

*
I know I promised you all that Preview of the Cozy Christmas Challenge Add On. But as you can see I am running a few days late on just about everything. I spent all of Monday with the heating pad on my back. The carpal tunnel also had to rear it's ugly little face while shoveling.

The aches and pains are beginning to fade, so hopefully I will get that preview up for you yet to day.

I also have a couple of layouts to share with you today.

Haunted House Kit

Good Evening Everyone!
Did you all have a good weekend?

Friday afternoon the boy came home from school not feeling so good. I told him to lay down and relax for a while and he ended up falling asleep. I let him sleep till dinner time and when he would not eat more then a couple of bites I decided that he was not going to basketball pratice that night. Better safe then sorry I figured. If he was coming down with something it was better to keep him home and not get the whole team sick. As it turned out only 2 kids were at practice!

Saturday morning he awoke and was bouncing around like there was never anything wrong so he did get to spend his normal Saturday night at (great) grandpa's house. I spent most of Saturday working on a few upcoming kits. Not close enough to being ready to put up a release date yet though. Although I did manage to wrap up and post two more Fan kits. If you missed them you can scroll back or click on the Fan Kit Information link on the right. They were the "Bengals Fan" and the "Mountaineers Fan" Kits.

Sunday morning was spent working on the new blog header with the tabs. I actually got the images to load correctly but I am having issues getting the links to were they are supposed to lead to, figured out. The header itself and 4 of the 6 buttons should work but they don't and I'm at a loss as to what I did wrong. I went step by step according to the Easy Custom Blogs blog. Other then using a different image host and links then her the codes look the same as far as I can tell.

If anyone is good at working with code and would be willing to enlighten me, I'd really really appreciate it! At the current moment what drives me crazy the most is you cant go back to the beginning of the blog by clicking the Header or the Home button. If I could just get one of those to work, I could fight my way through the rest.

I got so frustrated this afternoon I walked away from the computer and cleaned house! Completely cleaned the living room, bath and kitchen. I even installed my new kitchen shelves that have been sitting in the corner waiting for close to 3 years now! Talk about living in a construction zone! The only remaining things that need to be finished with the kitchen remodel is the corner base cabinet, still need to purchase that. The end of the counter top is held up with a couple of 2x4's right now. We also need to replace the windows but that will be done when we do the whole house.

But now that I am back at the computer I would like to introduce you all to Cisco.

Cisco is a 10-12 week old domestic female rat. She is not much bigger then a gerbil at the moment! Cisco joined our family last Thursday afternoon. My new little scrap buddy!

She loves to sit on my shoulder while I work on the computer.

(She is with me now as I type this!) Wow our little family is not so little anymore! 3 kids (= 3s_enough, lol! how many of you put that together?) a dog, 2 birds and a rat!

Tonight I do have a layout to share with you all.

Thank you to Christelle!
