U of North Carolina Fan Kit Freebie

Oh what a month! Are you ready for the last week of February? I know I am! I can't wait for march to come and we start warming up and finally heading toward spring!
You folks must be having just as busy a month as I have been having! Comments are down and reader submitted Layouts are few and far between this month. With this posting I have given out just as many freebies as January and we still have a week to go with a guarantee of two more freebies yet to come (with maybe a fan kit or two mixed in)!

I know I have not been chatty or anything this month. Just very busy cranking out the kits! I've done 6 private ones plus everything you have been getting on the blog. There's been lots of late, late nights and a lot of coffee drinking! I still need to scrap my photos from last summer at the Rockies game.

Activities with the kids will finally slow down come March. The boys last Basketball game is the first week of march and then it will be all music performances and practices. Speaking of music, I got a bit of sticker shock over the weekend. The boy had his D string break on his Cello last week so we went to get a new one Saturday. That one string cost more then a whole set does for a violin! I knew it would be more then a single violin string but I had no idea it would be that much more! He wants to switch to band next year, wonder what those repair bills etc are going to cost? He has no idea which instrument he wants to play, and I have no idea of how to go about helping him decide. How did you help your kids decide what instrument they were going to play, or did they just know what they wanted to play?

Well, I'll guess I'll leave you here with the U of North Carolina Fan Kit Freebie

for knowing what instrument to play, our middle school band instructor comes in to the elementary and has them try getting a sound out of the mouthpieces. Then they recommend what 3 instruments the child would probably enjoy the most.

Maybe check with the band instructor at school?

my kids got exposed to instruments by playing the recorder in 1st 2nd and 3rd grades...my daughter didn't want anything to do with musuc but my son decided he wanted to play alto sax now that was some big bucks 14 years ago..like over $1000.00 and to have it repaired well lets just say...to my son's defense he played till he graduated high school so in essence I got my money's worth..cept he got to sell it for books for college...go figure..anywho..thanks for this kit and your week 8 templates...am not home right now or I would post my layout for this months gift..will be home by sat nite will send it to you then...have a great day

Yea!!!!!!! You made my day by doing this kit!!! I wanted to ask, but knew you weren't taking requests now and you've already done one for me. If you ever get a chance, Appalachian State University is another great school in North Carolina to do. Again, thanks so much

I click the ads, I swear! Every day I come and click the ads because you have done so many nice free kits of me. I hope that others continue to click as well. I love this North Carolina kit, I've always loved their light blue. Unfortunately, I have no need for it. Don't know anything about the school except they stole Roy Williams away from KU.

I started playing the violin when I was four years old. At that young age I believe my parents chose for me, at least I don't remember asking...I wanted a Cabbage Patch doll. But I never thought to change instruments after I'd been playing that long.

My kids were interviewed by the bandleader and then given a chance to try different instruments and blowing on the mouthpieces as mentioned above.
