Mothers Day is a tough one for me. I enjoy my kids so much that I still can't figure out how my mother could just walk away and never look back. My Dad and her divorced when I was 18 months old and then when I was 3 she dropped all her parental rights and I never saw or heard from her again. I only tried contacting her once to try and get some family medical history but she denied my very existence.
So instead of being out and about on mothers day the kids took me out to brunch and then again out to diner today! (Saturday) They also pitched in and bought me all the plants for my pots on our deck. I love getting plants as gifts, to me there the best! So for Mothers Day you'll find me planting my flowers and working in the garden. Should be a pretty relaxing day!

Uhg. I am sorry that your mom treated you so badly. My son's father is still around some but I fear one day he will disappear and the effect that will have on my son. It's a shame.

My mom died when I was two, and I was very fortunate to be cared for by my Grandmother. Somehow For you though, I think knowing her departure was deliberate is even harder to deal with. Makes you love your own kids all the more. Thanks for sharing.

Isn't it wonderful that you have 4 wonderful children to love. They will bring you so much joy (oh and a few tears here and there) over the years. I am so sorry your Mom couldn't be a Mom to you. Now God has given you these 4 blessings to be loved by you forever.
