Double Template #69 ~ Freebie

We're Home!!!!
I'll have to give you all the run down of our vacation in my next post. We came home to find that Grandpa's basement had flooded. All this rain has broken a seventeen year old record! It don't help that one of the basement windows leaks really really bad! However I did get the laundry all done and the oldest packed for her church group camp. (She leaves tomorrow.) We also brought the birds and the rat back home today and cleaned the cages.

Double Template #68 ~ Freebie

Evening Everyone!

Hope you are all enjoying your 4th of July Weekend!
Windy again here today so we just took the day off. First full day off since I started this project. We did make it out to the lake Thursday evening. The wind was brutal but we had a good time none the less. The water has gone down about a foot but it is still extremely high compared to normal.
Today is supposed to be the last windy day for a while so tomorrow I will put in a full day and in the evening we will be heading out to the aunt and uncles place in the country for some three wheeler riding and fireworks. Enjoy the forth everyone and remember what your celebrating with all those fireworks!

Tonight I have the last of our June Layouts to share with you all. This one comes to us from Jo Ann. As to the type of tree this is, it could be any number of things. A hybrid pear or peach tree or maybe even a dogwood. But most likely it is one of the hundreds of sub species of Crabapple trees that are now available. My Grandfather has two similar trees in his neighborhood and when they are in full bloom the one looks like a white pom pom and the other one is a pink version. When the flowers fall in the first breeze the yards look like they are covered in snow for a day or two. I agree it is a shame the flowers don't last longer!

Double Template #67 ~ Freebie

Storms!

They missed us yesterday evening but they got their revenge tonight!
50 mile an hour winds gusting to 75 with straight sideways rain! Nasty, 2 and a half inches of rain in less then an hour!

Damage wise, power lines are down all around town along with tons of trees and street flooding.
I got some roof damage from 3 separate tree branches coming down. Boy did those make noise when they hit! Not sure about damage up on the roof (ladders are all at Grandpa's) but I did get the branches down and I can see some crush like damage done to my sofit area.

The storm also undid about half the work I did at Grandpa's today. I had finished the flashing yesterday and today I managed to get the house wrap on all of the garage except up in the gable, well the storm removed half of it and a couple pieces of flashing from the front window of the house. 3 steps forward and 2 steps back! Oh well, it could of been a whole lot worse. Thanking our lucky stars that we did not get the hail or tornado's that were all around us.

Since our damage is nothing a little hard work can't fix I'm in a truly good mood! Even with the teenager pestering to go to a friends house. I have told her no about 6 times now! There is no travel advised in our town and since I don't have an emergency of any sort I'm staying put!

This evening I spent some time sorting through my email for the last month or so.

I think I may have missed giving out the May gift to a couple of people. If you are one of them please shoot me an email.

I also found a couple of layouts that have come in since the first but I have some how missed getting them posted so those will be coming up in the next post or so.

I'm so far behind in daily things that I don't really even know where to start to get things re organized.

In the mean time I do have a freebie for you!

Project 365 Week 26 Template ~ Freebie

Evening everyone,
I'm so tired I'm at a loss for words... so here goes.....
I put in an 12 hour day on the house today. although I did take an hour to go and check out another SUV. That was a waste of time. I do have that picture update for any of you that are actually interested. I re roofed this house 7 years ago by myself. The shingle trimming along the gable ends leaves a little to be desired, but absolutely no leaks thus far! I built the deck 3 years ago but we are having dirt and water issues under it, so that will be fixed during this process also.

Forgot my camera on Day 4 and totally forgot about the camera on the phone! Anyway I told you Monday that we SUV shopped and that I worked that evening. What I did not tell you is that we had a bit on a incident Monday night. While removing the siding 15 feet in the air I dropped a nail down into the AC unit. Yep... tink tink tink tink tink tsssssssssssssssssssssssss! Just like a nail in your car radiator! So Tuesday morning the repair man had to come out. I made sure all the siding on that side of the house was off before he got there at 10 am! I was not about to let another"accident" happen. $330.00 later, we had AC again.

Tonight I have a fabulous layout to share with you all sent in to us by my good Friend Kristal.
This one she did for her Dad for Fathers Day. Isn't it great!
She also submitted it for the Newsletter Challenge at Stuff to Scrap. I'm so far behind reading the Newsletters that I didn't even know they were running a challenge about 3 Generations!
Fantastic job Kristal I'm sure your Dad loved it!

Double Template #66 ~ Freebie

And so it begins...
Today I started the prep work for Grandpa's siding. Took all the old trim down from the sofits and gables. Took the light fixtures down then deconstructed and removed the back deck off the patio doors. The big roll off dumpster arrives in the morning and I will be starting on removal of the old siding.

Here is a picture from our lake trip. This is supposed to be the ski beach! The wall is 4 feet tall and normally there is 8 to 10 feet of nice sandy beach. Note the shrubs in the water.
I also have a couple of layouts to share with you tonight.

Double Template #65 ~ Freebie

Evening all!
Hope you all had a good week.
Been busy around here as always. We have received 3.5 inches of rain in the last two days. Very soggy and low areas are flooded. Straight line winds came through last night and took out some houses just a few blocks from Grandpa's place. His neighbour hood was scattered with tree branches.
We plan on heading to the lake the the first part of the week for our first jetskie run. I fully charged the batteries and put those in today. Just need to hope they start after sitting all winter.
Let's see what else have I been up to, hmm... Worked on some templates, weeded the entire garden. Harvested onions and radishes. Pulled a ton of weeds for a neighbor, oh, and I've been studying up on how to install vinyl siding. Yep! That's the plan starting late next week. Tearing all the old press board siding off Grandpa's house and installing new vinyl siding. I have no idea how long it's going to take. But in the evenings I will be building new closets, one in the boys room and one in the girls room. Already gutted the old out, just need to build in the new ones and paint.
Anyway....
Kristal has been playing catch up with her Project 365 layouts!

Double Template #64 ~ Freebie

Oh My! The sun finally came out! The last time we saw it in these parts was back on the 6th. It's been very rainy, cold and generally just plain icky! We had been in the 40's for highs and lows in the lower thirty's so today's 67 was great, not to hot but nice and sunny! Today was also the last day of school for the little one. The other two still have a few days left and will be done next Thursday.

I swear though the youngest is going to drive me nuts with her roughness. Today after school I was talking to her older brother while she was going down the slide on our little swing set. No big deal till I heard her cry out. She had tried to sit on the swing and the swing slid backward out from under her. Down she went! Good thing the swing is set as low as it will go (16" off the ground). The kicker was when she was picking herself up the swing came back and got her in the shoulder! Not hard, but just enough to make her mad! What really made her made was when I told her she needed to come in for a while and settle down. I mean the cast has not even been on for a week! Take it easy and let's get things healing!

Heck earlier this week I was folding laundry and I hear "Momma Help". Not a panic cry but with a bit of hurry up to it. I found her standing on her head holding herself up with her good arm, between the couch and the coffee table. She had slid off the couch trying to reach a book that was under the coffee table. She has pulled this move twice now! Why can't she just get up and get the item the proper way! Kids! Who knows what they will do next!

P365 Week 19 Template ~ Freebie

Morning everyone!
I know I committed an oops last night, I should have been blogging but instead I figured I'd watch a little TV with the kids until they went to bed. Well I ended up falling asleep! Oops, sure felt good but there are so many things I should have been doing instead. Sorry all.

First off today I would like to share with you the wonderful gifts I received from Egypt over the weekend. As the journaling says I made a private request kit awhile back for a wonderful lady who, in return, sent me and the kids these wonderful items! I know the pictures themselves are a bit yellowish but the Stone is White Egyptian Marble and it really is snow white! These are such a priceless treasure for us! Thank you so very very much!

I worked on the above Double, Tuesday morning while I chatted with my good friend Michele and then Tuesday evening I worked on this next one. I created the pieces for this one as I went.
I did more scrapping on Tuesday then I have all year!

It has been very windy here for the last week or so and it just tires a person out fighting it all the time. Wednesday was the worst so I decided enough was enough and took the day off. It's nice working for yourself some times. So instead I spent a large part of the day working on a private request kit. And a little time gathering stuff up for my rummage sale next weekend. I can't wait to be rid of all the baby gear that we have stored away! I also have a Blog Fan Kit almost ready to go, I just need to finish up the preview. I'll be posting that in the next day or two.

Template #243 ~ Freebie

Evening All
Hope you all had a good weekend.
The Circus was a hit! For going to the 7 pm performance the little one did pretty good and only fell asleep for the last 20 min of the show. No matter how much we tried we just could not get her to nap Saturday afternoon. Her favorite parts were the animals, as to the boy he liked the tigers and motorcycle high wire act. The oldest well she says she liked going but the only time she cracked a grin was for a couple of pictures and one clown act. We all loved the clown act! He had three stuffed animals that he would wind up and then call them to him. The first two would not work at all but the third one turned out to be a small shih tzu dog crammed into an elephant stuffed animal costume. Cute as all get out. Farting baby powder out and going completely limp like a really well loved stuffed animal. When he finally popped out of the costume it was a hilarious!

Been another rainy icky day here. The decorative brackets I was working on have been pushed to next Monday for installation. The weather is not cooperating for installation yet alone painting them. But I finally got some time to work on some of those fan kits! Look for a new one tomorrow!
We also have some Fantastic Layouts to share tonight! This makes for a total of 16 so far! Keep them coming the more the merrier and the more gifts you all will receive! Please remember to include the credits with your LO's. I would really love to be able to give the designers of these fabulous kits the credit they deserve!

Now for you viewing pleasure.....

Template #246 ~ Freebie

Morning everyone!
It's another rainy day here which makes for a perfect excuse to get some computer work done.
I have some more awesome layouts to share today but first we need to take care of some business.
With summer upon us and school starting to let out I just don't have the time I need to keep up with everything. As a result the Blog Fan Kits have fallen behind and so have the Double Templates. No new Blog Fan Kit requests will be started on until September. Over the summer I will slowly work on the ones that are already listed.
Also the Private Request (High School) Kits are being put on hold until school starts back up in August. Don't worry I will still finish the ones on my to do list! You know who you are :)
The Plan over the summer is to finish all the Fan Kits already requested and work the Double Templates back into the schedule on a regular basis.
Also you may have noticed that I have added April Gift 2, to the side bar so that you all can see what you will be receiving! I also need to make another Template which in turn means that later today you will find April Gift 3 listed on the right! Yep we have gotten 11 layouts so far! Keep them coming! We will run with this until midnight (central time) on the last day of April! But that also means that the gifts will be a couple of days late going out. I don't have the "Gifts " made up ahead of time. I'm making them as you folks send in the layouts!

P365 Week 17 Template ~ Freebie

Oh, What a week!
Hope yours has been going better then mine!
We have been busy as always but yesterday morning I had grandpa meet me at the lumber yard to pick up some things, um a well, turns out the truck issue is not fully solved. It refused to start again! We wiggled some wires and poked around under the hood some. Not sure if any of it helped, but it did start!

The weather men say we are in for a drenching rain this weekend and as I type the sky is getting darker and darker. It will soon be here and my outside work will be put on hold again. But it's OK this time! The mower broke on Wednesday so now I get to fix that over the weekend. I am also taking time this weekend to take the kids to the circus!
I finished up one of my building projects yesterday. A raised flower bed. Had to have Grandpa deliver it for me though as I had to race home and gather the kids from school. I also need to finish up some decorative wooden brackets and deliver those on Monday. Thankfully Grandpa let's me use his garage for most of this stuff.
For those of you who are new or newer to the blog. Grandpa is my Grandfather and the kids Great - Grandfather! I know I talk about him a lot! He raised me and we are very close.

Today I have a couple more layouts to share with you all. Keep them coming! For every 5 layouts submitted this month I will add an extra Template to our April gift! Right now everyone will be getting 2! But you are so close to getting a third one!

Template #242 ~ Freebie

Good morning!
Hope you all had a good weekend!
Ours was a bit on the crazy side of things. Nothing terrible bad just constant running around with our heads cut off. Classic for us! hehe! It all started with a receipt that my Dad needed on Friday. He is a truck driver so I had to wait for him to call then fax it to where he was. Had to keep my phone on me all day. I dislike feeling like I'm tied to my phone. He was also going to be passing through town late Friday night. Another reason to keep the phone handy. But the drama really started at dinner time. He had called at 4 saying in about an hour he would be calling and for me to be ready. So I delayed starting dinner and waited, and waited and waited some more. At a quarter to six the kids were beginning to complain about dinner time so I called him. He didn't need me to fax the receipt but he didn't bother calling me to say so! I finally got dinner going and just as we were finishing up Grandpa calls. The oldest and him had gone to Taco Bell for dinner and his pickup would not start. They were stuck. So I loaded up the youngsters and grabbed the jumper cables and a phone book just in case. (My phone don't have all the web goodies.) So we pull in and he just wants to call the tow truck, wouldn't even let me try jump starting it. He said he had power but the starter was acting like it had a flat spot. So the kids got a lesson in tow trucks and how to tow things properly. They loved it! It's been 15 years since I drove tow trucks for a living. The oldest don't even remember me doing it she was so little. Got the truck back to grandpa's and the tow driver was kind enough to put it in the driveway for us to work on it. After that was done the younger ones and I headed home to have our strawberry short cake! My Dad called at 10 pm so I headed up to see him for a few minutes at the truck stop. (3 blocks from my house). He runs hard, South of Miami Florida last Wednesday to Seattle Washington yesterday. One end of the country to the other. He loves to drive but the company he is with is screwing him over big time! When I'm done straightening out his books he is going to get an attorney to fight this company. I'll be naming names once the attorney is hired!

Spent the weekend working on Grandpa's pickup trying to figure it out. Had to take the tire off to get to the starter but after my Dad calling and giving us a few ideas on what to test we finally discovered that the battery has a censor eye on it and it was not registering the way it should have. Monday we finally got the thing to start and I had him bring it to the auto parts store near my place. O'Reillys is awesome for testing your charging and starting systems! The shop manager about had a heart attack when he heard the truck was a 2002 and only had 40,000 miles on it. He was even more shocked to find that the battery in it was the original one from the factory! The mechanic said the truck should last grandpa a very long time at this rate! Thanks Tom! See I told you I would blog about you and your store!

But now that the new week is here it is time to get some scrapping done!
We have 5 layouts to share today and that also means that I throw in an extra template for this months gift! Remember for every 5 layouts that are submitted this month I will add on a template to our April gift!
