P365 Week 2 ~ 2010 Freebie

Brrrr... It's down right frigid out! So much so that they canceled school today due to the 50 below wind chill! We are on the backside of the first storm of the new year. We got another 6 inches of snow yesterday. So for the season we are almost at three feet of snow and that is way higher then normal! They are also expecting us to break our record low tonight. That record has stood for over a hundred years! 30 something below zero not counting any windchill! (I just got word that school has been canceled for Friday also due to the cold.)

Even with School being canceled we were still up and out before 8 am for the little ones first Dental visit. I didn't think she would go along with the x-ray bit but she was a little trooper and did everything asked of her. She even demonstrated her brushing technique for the dentist. No cavities but we will be looking at braces down the road for crowding issues with her permanent teeth and overbite. That also means that all three kids will be doing the braces thing. The oldest just got done with hers at the beginning of the school year. The dentist said it is most likly due to genetics since all the kids will be having braces at some point. I never had braces, I had some crowding that impacted my wisdom teeth and I had those removed after I acquired a really nasty infection in one of them. I am still dealing with some of the after affects from that infection. The first half of the restoration took place in the summer of 98 if you really want to know about it I did blog about it. (nasty times)

The rest of the day we just hung out and played some Wii. I did some reading and worked on a new private request kit. I should be back to the fan kits next week sometime. Just before dinner tonight I got a wild hair up my butt and decided to make my first ever batch of fudge! Over all it's not to bad, the chocolate could be a bit stronger. My biggest fear was that it would be all grainy and nasty but nope, this is just melt in your mouth creamy! The kids loved it!

Tonight we also have a "Cozy Christmas" Layout to share with you.
This lovely one was sent into us by Karen.
Thank you Karen!
Karen will be receiving our Add On to Cozy Christmas on the 17 and she will also receive our January Participation gift !
You can still get your "Cozy Christmas Add On"! All you need to do is send in a LO using the Cozy Christmas Kit that Michelle, Simona and I made for you.

Before we get to our freebie tonight and start off the second week of our new year. I would like to share this email that my father sent me this evening.
A Story to live by:
There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend.

He was always there for her.

She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see
the world, I will marry you.'

One day,
someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages
came off, she was able to see everything, including her
boyfriend.

He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?'

The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind.

The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected
that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life
led her to refuse to marry him.

Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her
saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before
they were yours, they were mine.'

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes.
Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who
was always by their side in the most painful situations.

Life Is a
Gift

Today
before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.

Before
you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone
who has nothing to eat.

Before
you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone
who's crying out to GOD for a companion.

Today
before you complain about life - Think of someone who died
too early on this earth.

Before
you complain about your children - Think of someone who
desires children but they're barren.

Before
you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or
sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before
whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who
walks the same distance with their feet.

And when
you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the
unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your
job.

But
before you think of pointing the finger or condemning
another - Remember that not one of us is without sin.

And when
depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on
your face and think:
you're alive and still around.

That was a great story. I gave me a chill. It's sad that there really are people who forget their pain when it goes away and judge others differently. Former smokers judging smokers, people who lose a great amount of weight judging overweight people...

Thanks for giving us something to think about and thanks for the great template for P365 this week! :)
